Casa dos Caminhantes(the House of the walkers) is a bed and breakfast for people who like tranquility, nature and hiking. Casa dos Caminhantes is located near the village of Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo, in the beautiful eastern part of the Algarve in Portugal, 30 km from Faro airport, 15 km from Tavira and the beaches.
Casa dos Caminhantes is situated on the top of a hill and has a great view on the alternating landscape. Magnificent views of both the sea and the hills in the hinterland. You can enjoy the space and the stillness. It is an ideal base for making short and longer walks or trips to the various attractions the area has to offer. But it is also a good place to be with a book by the pool, in the garden or on one of the terraces.

In the beginning of 2008 we, Anneke Halling and André Verhoeven, spent a longer time exploring this area of the Algarve and we ”fell in love with it”. A wonderful climate and a rhythm of life that we don’t have any longer in the Netherlands and the possibility to create the most beautiful walks in the Algarve. This was the reason for us to build a house here and to share our experiences with all those who also like to be in this part of the Algarve.
We, Anneke (58 years) and André (62 years) have arrived, in terms of careers, in another phase of our lives. André has worked for years as interim manager, consultant and coach. Anneke has worked her entire life in health care. We both want to remain active, therefore we have set up a small intimate Bed & Breakfast in the Algarve. We have many walks for you available, from 2 to 20 km. We can also advise you on creating your own personalized excursions in the surroundings.
